Cookies policy

A cookie is a small text file a website asks your browser to store on your device. Similar technologies — local storage, session storage, pixels — work the same way for the user: they let a site remember something between page loads. We use the term "cookies" loosely to cover all of them on this page.

Cookies are not inherently good or bad. The questions are: who set it, what's it for, how long does it stay, and did the user agree.

We group every cookie into one of three categories:

• Strictly necessary. Cookies the site needs to work — login session, language, the consent flag itself, security tokens. These are set without asking because the site cannot function without them, and they never carry tracking data to anyone outside LConnect.
• Analytics. Anonymised measurement — which pages are popular, where pages are slow, whether a feature is used. We only set them if you opt in. The data is aggregated and never tied to your account.
• Marketing. Tags from advertising networks (e.g. Meta, Google) used to measure ad performance and show you relevant LConnect content on other sites. Set only if you opt in.

The LConnect website currently sets only the strictly-necessary items below. Analytics and marketing categories are wired up but no third-party tags fire until you grant consent.

When we add an analytics or marketing vendor, this table will be updated and the consent banner version will be bumped — so we re-ask you before any new tag fires.

You have several controls, in order of precision:

• The consent banner. The simplest control — appears on your first visit and any time the version changes. Three buttons: accept all, essential only, or customise per category. Reopen it at any time from the footer "Manage cookies" link or the button below.
• Your browser. Every modern browser lets you block, delete or restrict cookies per site. Note that blocking strictly-necessary cookies will break login and language switching.
• Mobile OS settings. On the LConnect mobile apps, you can limit ad tracking via your device's privacy settings (Settings → Privacy & Security on iOS; Settings → Privacy → Ads on Android).
